  • BurnInTest (linux command line) running PCIe test gives Floating Point exception

    Hi,

I am trying to use the command line version of the 32bit burnintest on linux.

Generally it is working ok, except when I include the PCIe test in the test set. This will result in an immediate Floating Point exception. I have no issues when running the PCIe test in the GUI version or using the scripting (same circumstances).

    Linux version:
    3.17.4-porteus (32-bit)

Many thanks for your support. Additional info below.

    Kind regards,
    Corné

We did almost all of our development work on 64bit now. So the 32bit world doesn't get tested nearly as well as 64bit does. I'm also not sure if we tested on 3.17.4-porteus.

We can have a look into it, as it is almost surely a bug, but with the Christmas break it won't be until the new year.

In the meantime is there any change you can try Ubuntu 64bit?

Thanks, David. Please have a look at this after Christmas. Currently executing the PCIe test via script is workable for us.

I did a small test at the 64-bit Porteus, this gave the same error.

Could you please try this updated build, http://www.passmark.com/ftp/bitlinux3.3.1002.tar.gz and let us know if you are still seeing the problem.

          Hi Tim,

I have repeated the tests with the build you provided. The problem is fixed. Great!

          Many thanks for your support.

          Kind regards,
