The CoolMax LCD Power Supply Tester includes the following features:

Test and diagnose faults with your PSU and its connectors without risking damage to the motherboard or other PC components.
Accurate readings up to +/- 0.1 V.
Simple to use, simply plug in and hold the power button to start testing.
Compatible with 20-pin and 24-pin PSUs.
Large, backlit LCD display which accurately indicates the voltage of the current connection(s), including information about 5V Standby (5VSB) voltage and the time it takes to receive a Power_Good (PG) signal.
Emits a warning alarm when it detects no voltage, an over-voltage, an under-voltage or an abnormal Power_Good (PG) voltage from the current connection(s).

Please note that power supply testers are not designed or intended for continuous use and should not be used to continuously test for more than a minute. As such, they may not be an adequate test for intermittent power supply instabilities over time or under load.

For the detection and diagnosis of intermittent hardware problems, we recommend BurnInTest Professional to stress test your machine for endurance, reliability and stability.

Prior to the release of PS-228, PassMark Software was offering the PS-224 model of the CoolMax Power Supply Tester at the same price. Model PS-224 has now been superseded by model PS-228.

There are several versions of the PS-228 device. Some have an aluminum case, some have plastic cases depending on the production run. There are also variations in the printing with some runs have embossed writing and others having white printed text. All variants are identical in function however.
