The PassMark BurnInTest CD/DVD drive test routine requires a PassMark Test CD/DVD. You can either purchase these discs from PassMark Software or produce your own discs using CD-Maker.

The advantages of using our discs are twofold. Firstly, our discs are pressed rather than burnt. This results in less errors and the resulting discs are more reflective (giving a better

signal to noise ratio). Secondly, the PassMark test DVD is a dual layer DVD with 8.5GB of data. (Compare this with current generation burnt DVD's which hold only 4.5GB).

Thus, when possible we recommend you use our test discs or a combination of pressed discs and burnt discs.

PassMark CD-Maker generates the necessary disk image, through which it is possible for the tester to burn the Data CD/DVDs themselves.
