Question DVD Drive Test RHEL5.2

Hi,

I'm a Linux noob, but it's been mandated by our customer! I'm running BIT 1006 (registered) but I can't get the external USB DVD drive to be detected as a DVD drive, only a hard drive. How do I sort this out? I know it involves remounting it as a cdrom, but I've tried several ways and it either appears as an HDD or not at all!

If it's mounted under /media/BURNIN_DVD it's detected as an HDD, what should it be mounted as? The drive is detected as /dev/scd0.

TIA

Ian

It may be that BurnInTest is not picking up the mounted file type correctly and isn't recognising it as a DVD drive, could you please run BurnInTest in debug mode (using the -d command line parameter) and send us a copy of the debug log file.
