Default bit.exe errors right on startup

The program gives the generic Windows error "bit.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." right on startup (before anything shows up). This is on a brand new Dell Dimension 3100 with Windows XP Media Center Edition. I googled around and looked a bit in these forums, but didn't find anything helpful.

    Any thoughts?

Could you please post the version and build of BurnInTest you are using?

Normally when any application displays this generic message, there is an address that shows where the problem occurred, eg at 0x00412345, could you please post or send us (help [at] passmark [dot] com) information that contains this address?

When do you get this error and is it repeatable? For example is on starting a particaular test (eg. 3D)? If so, can you narrow it down to a particular test?

    Thanks.
    Ian (PassMark)
