Is the Phenom ii X2 550 compatible with my GA-MA74GM-S2 Motherboard?

It says its not compatible on the CPU list support section

But I find myself amazed that my motherboard is compatible with the Phenom II X3 720.. so whats the deal here? Isn't the 550 and 720 the same? Just the only difference is that the 720 has an extra core, so it would work right?

I really want to know if this would be a matching combo because I'm really interested in the 550.
