    Default Error messages

I have run Modem Test and as I expected, some errors in data transfer have shown up. However, I have still no idea whether these are caused by the modem, the phone line or anything else - so I still don't know where to start to put the problem right. Have I missed something in the explanation somewhere? Could someone advise please.

Thank you very much - Lizzie

You need to go through a process of elimination. For example borrow a modem and swap out your existing modem to remove the modem from the equation or repeat the test with a different phone line if you suspect the phone line.

From the point of view of ModemTest it is often not possible to know if an error is with the modem or the line.
