BurnInTest for Linux fails to test the Startup Disk.

My installation has separate / & /home logical volumes.

I have my installation at ~/burnintest.

The test files (~bittest*.txt) for the Startup disk should be generated in / but appear in ~/burnintest which is of course on the /home volume.

Effectively /home is tested twice & / is not tested.

Here is my test log:

The only way to test the root drive is to move ~/burnintest/ to a location which is definitly in that drive (I used /opt/burnintest/.

(This also has the consequence that .../burnintest/* cannot reside on a USB since for large a root drive the USB drive will quickly fill with large ~bittest*.txt files. )

There is a new build of BurnInTest available from http://www.passmark.com/ftp/bitlinux3.1001.tar.gz that changes the behaviour of the disk test so the files will be created at / when the startup disk is selected.
