PT 7 builds 1015-1017 give low string sorting results

Builds 1015 or newer give string sorting results that can't be compared to builds 1014 and prior. Builds 1015 and newer report more than a 50% drop in string sorting performance. Tested on the rig in my sig. See screen shot below. BTW this is easily repeatable.

We did make some changes in this area in build 1017.
It should not have effected any results. But we might have stuffed up.
We'll investigate.

Thanks for pointing this out. After some investigation it seems between version 1014 and 1015 I accidentally increased the size of the strings being sorted from 25 characters to 250 characters.

We should have a new build out returning this to it's previous behaviour in the next day or two.

No one has support even half as good as Passmark and your programs are always rock solid to boot.

Looks like we stuffed up earlier on. The mistake seems to be in build 1015. Not 1017. Builds 1015 to 1017 are sorting longer strings compared to build 1014, making them slightly slower. Opps. As best as we can tell at the moment it seems to be due to a typo in the code.

I will write a seperate post on new software that is under development.
