View Full Version : Confused about CPU identification

I just replaced my E6850 with a Q9550. When I ran the tests with my old processor it properly identified it as the E6850. When I run the tests now it tells me I have a Pentium III class and my test results are confusing. My CPU mark doubled...which I expected...but others like 2D, 3D and Memory mark are actually lower.

When I start up the Intel Desktop Control Center, it doesn't seem to know what the processor is either.

I'm using an Intel DX38BT mb, so I assume putting an Intel CPU into an Intel board shouldn't confuse things like this.

When I ran the burn in test it told me I have a Xeon processor.

Anyone have any ideas?

Can you start BurnInTest with forced debug logging. To do this start BurnInTest with the command line parameter "-u" (see BurnInTest help),

Please email me us the Debug*.trace files to the contact email address shown on this page:

This should make things clearer.
