Hi,

I am a new user to the forum. Last weeks I purchased a HP 6240f with Win 7. After setup I tried to format a CD and DVD = would not work. After an hour on the phone with Hp tech, still no progress, so I treied BurnIn and got 2 FAILED messages:

Network1 No permission to open Raw Network Socket ( 0 0 81 attempts)

Optical Drive Error while searching for files on optical disk (note, no CD or DVD installed) (0 0 180 attempts)

I ran HP PC Doctor - it says all is ok

I did a full Sytem Restore and now caqn format media....

But here is the question: I have one week to return / exchnage the pc - should I do that?

Am I interpreting the BurnIn results wrong???

Thanks in advace

The BurnInTest errors can be explained as follows:
1) Network1 No permission to open Raw Network Socket ( 0 0 81 attempts)

The Network test requires administrator privileges (or elevated administrator privileges in Vista and later). So I suspect this is not a system problem - retrying with "run as administrator" will show this.
2) Optical Drive Error while searching for files on optical disk (note, no CD or DVD installed) (0 0 180 attempts)

You need to put a CD or DVD in the drive. Try again with a CD or DVD in the optical drive.
