Hi,

Anyone know why this Score for the processor is so low?

ECS Elitegroup P4M900TM2 Motherboad
Q6600
2GB DDR2 667MHz Kingston RAM
500GB SAMSUNG HDD
XFX 9600GT 512MB DDR3

Win XP Home 32Bit, Freshly Built, all drivers installed, no crap installed!

Overall Score 627

CPU: 775 (should be more like 2400 ish??)
RAM: 593
2D: 570
3D: 850
CD: 180
HDD: 540

Tried it on Windows Vista 64bit with similar results, but Vista gives it a score of 5.9 which is the highest available?

Everything else seems normal, anyone got any ideas?

Check you are using the latest version of PerformanceTest and the number of processed in the Edit / Preferences window is at least 4 (to match your quad core CPU).

If you are using Windows 64bit make sure you download the native 64bit version of PerformanceTest.

Hi there!

I seem to be having the same problem. Here's my PC specs:

C2Q Q6600 (o/c to 3.0GHz) with Zalman CNPS8700LED CPU cooler
ASUS P5K (Latest BIOS 1103)
4 x 1GB DDR2 667MHz Kingston RAM
500GB SAMSUNG HDD SATAII
ASUS EN9800GTX+ 512MB DDR3
OS: MS Windows Vista 32-bit (SP1)
PSU: 450W true power + 250W true power dedicated for VGA card

Overall Score: 899 :(

Anybody can suggest why the reading is low? What would be the acceptable reading for this specs?

All help appreciated! :)

You didn't post the CPU figure, so it is hard to say if the issue is the same, or even if there really is an issue. 899 as an overall score isn't all that bad.

If the issue is the same, the my initial advice would also be the same (see my previous post).

Sorry, here's the info (C2Q overclocked to 2.9GHz):

CPU Mark: 1693.7
2D Graphics: 293.2
Memory Mark: 692.1
Disk Mark: 541.9
CD Mark: 597.0
3D Graphics: 1031.0

How are these readings? Is it fair to say that this is the most I can get out of my PC investment.

Your kind advice is much appreciated and most welcomed.

Thank you,

nismailm

:)

p/s: Just to note also that before I upgraded my CPU from C2D E6420 2.13GHz to the new C2Q Q6600 2.4GHz. the overall reading was 750+ with the following details (C2D overclocked to 2.4GHz):

CPU Mark: 1331.5
2D Graphics: 321.0
Memory Mark: 542.7
Disk Mark: 522.1
CD Mark: 289.5
3D Graphics: 783.6

The CPU score should be higher. If you have upgraded the CPU from 2 core to 4 core, then check you are using the latest version of PerformanceTest and check the number of processed in the Edit / Preferences window is at least 4 (to match your quad core CPU).

Hello im also getting low cpu scores.I have an E7200 with Gigabyte GA-73VM-S2 motherboard. It is FSB pin modded to boot at 333mhz fsb so 3.16ghz vcore is 1.23v.I can rune prime95 for hours,no stability problems etc But in passmark i only score 900 points. Its the newest version and i tried changing processes, did not effect score by much. im always about 900 to 950.What could be the problem?

The average CPU rating for an E7200 @ 2.53GHz is 1604. So your score is low.
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=Intel+Core2+Duo+E7200+%40+2.53G Hz

I would check that the number of processors in Edit-Preferences was set to 2.

The FSB speed for the stock E7200 is 1066MHz. If you have dropped this to 333MHz with a hardware mod, then maybe you have introduced a performance bottleneck on the FSB. I would try a higher FSB speed (with other settings adjusted accordingly).

Regards,
Ian

Sorry i dont quite understand,i used the mod so at bios instead of booting at 266mhz 9.5X multiplier it booted at 333mhz 9.5X multiplier. This means it was easy to get to 400mhz ie 3.8ghz.Right now its stable at that after running prime 95,but my cpu still only scores 1070.

You said you changed the FSB to 333MHz, when you really increased it from 1066MHz to 1333MHz.

Did you check the number of processes is set to 2?

Please post your CPU scores and lets see if any one score is very low.

..passmark i only score 900 points

Also can you clarify if this was the CPU Mark result or the overall PassMark result?

See the comments above.
- Check the number of processes in the preferences window
- Get the current software (V6.0 is now old)
- And post all of your results, not just one number, if you want any hope of getting sensible feedback

Same here, sorry for taking so long to get back.I found out the problem, somehow xp installed standard pc without me noticing instead of ACPI multiprocessor.I formatted and installed again, pressed F5 and choose ACPI multiprocessor and now its using both cores fine, and im getting over 2000 points in the cpu test! :D i just ordered an HD4850 to replace my 9600gt,hopefully ti will bump my overall scores up.

Cheers people.
