Normally I would put this down to heavy virtual memory fragmentation (not a RAM fault as such).

To help us better understand what is happening on your system, can you please run just the RAM test with Level 2 activity trace logging and email the .trace files to us at:
help [at] passmark [dot] com

Thanks.

Note:1.This computer RAM is 3GB(Qimonda 2GB & Nanya 1GB).
2.When run BurnIn test tool I had use one USB Flash Disk.

Now,about to this issue I have some questions would like to consult you.
1.May be what reasons cause this issue occur?
2.The two RAM together use can or not cause this issue occur?
3.If we don't put the CD/DVD into the ODD before run BurnIn,the tool will show Error on check CD/DVD.Do the same action again and again,is this reason?

Look forward to your reply!

Best Regards!

1) The most likely reason for the RAM error is virtual memory fragmentation. If you send us a trace 2 log to, help [at] passmark [dot] com, we should be able to see more clearly what is occurring. Can you turn on only the memory test and the minimum set of other test required to generate this RAM error. For example, (i) RAM test only or (ii) RAM + CD tests only.

I would recommend updating to the latest version of BurnInTest V5.3.1014 as this includes a sound test correction that can lead to virtual memory fragmentation after a long period of testing.

2) I don’t think having 2 different RAM manufactures memory sticks could cause this problem.

3) Strange. We have not seen this and I would not have thought this could cause this problem. However, I would be interested if you could send me the level 2 files for (i) the RAM + CD test with CD in, and (ii) the RAM + CD test with CD out

Regards,
Ian

Dear Ian:

Firstly,thanks for your reply kindly!

Laterly,I will send the Log file of RAM test only to you. But,our side biger problem is don't know that how to reproduce this issue...

Now,I have one question want to consult you.Could you tell me some details about virtual memory fragmentation? If this issue is caused by virtual memory fragmentation,in other words, this computer is or not has no Software and Hardware issue?

Look forward to your reply!

Best Regards!
Roger

This is not normally a hardware problem, but typically a software problem. This could be a device driver or BurnInTest. While I don't believe it is a BurnInTest problem, I would suggest moving to the latest version of BurnInTest v5.3.1014.

Virtual memory fragmentation typically occurs when memory is allocated by software and then deallocated, but for some reason the Operating System it does not recover the (full) virtual memory address space. After repeating this many many times the biggest free memory space in the operating system virtual memory map becomes smaller and smaller to the point where memory allocations in software start to fail.

Regards,
Ian
